Ballymoney Badgers

The game began with a strong start by the Eagles with a lead of 4 to 2 after the first half. 2 goals from Richard Grace, 1 from Kevan Grace and 1 from Darren Browne decorated the score sheet. All in all the period looked like the Eagles were dominant.

The second period started with tit-for-tat goals as the Badgers started to get a more offensive game in play. Badgers scored, with a reply from Browne, Badgers scored again, with a reply score from Dave Nicolai. A third time the Badgers scored with another reply from Browne. In the latter half of the second period though it suddenly went downhill for the Eagles when the Badgers put 3 unanswered goals past netminder Ray Browne to win the game by a goal.

Darren Browne achieved his first hatrick in this game.

Armagh Stars

The Eagles began this game as they meant to continue with a number of goals in the first period. Richard Grace and Paddy Rooney got 1 each, and Dave Nicolai and Darren Browne got a pair each to leave the score 6 to 3 in favour of the Eagles at the end of the first.

The second period began with a quick opening score by the Stars which shook the Eagles a little, however they came back strong with a great goal-stopping performance from Ray Browne and a number of scores only answered by one more from the Stars. Richard Grace and Paddy Rooney again got 1 each, Dave Nicolai scored another 2, Kevan Grace slid one in and Darren Browne achieved his second hatrick of the day with a dramatic top shelfer in the dying seconds of the game. This left the game at a final 12 to 5 in favour of the Eagles.
