The
first game of the Bangor tourney was not to prove a good one for
the Eagles with a loss to the Blaze. However, Rookie Patrick
Leonard got his first ever goal for the Eagles with pinpoint shots
from Dorinda foot & Steven Ewen also finding the net.

The
second game of the tourney was to be a bit more proud as the
Eagles came back from 3 - 1 down to win by 1. Richard Grace
scored the first early on, with no scores from the Eagles until
late in the game when Steven Ewen put one in with 5 minutes to
go. The Eagles were still 1 down with 2 minutes to go when
Dorinda Foot hit a crisp pass to Dave Barnes who shot from the
point to make it level. Finally, in the last second of the game,
yet again, Dorinda Foot passed to Dave Barnes on point, who's
shot was deflected passed the netminder by Steven Ewen with the
full-time buzzer sounding as the puck was still settling in the
back of the net.

The fourth game
was a bit of a black mark on the day as what started off as a
tight game ended in fighting. With approximately 4 minutes to
go, a fight broke out between Steven Ewen of the Eagles &
Mathew Snel of the Chiefs. This quickly escalated as the Bangor
Goalie left his net to skate to the half-way line to attack
Darren Browne. In the end, the clock was not stopped as the
arguements continued and the result finished at 5 - 4 to Bangor,
with tournament ejection for Steven Ewen, although many agree
that the game was abandoned and the points should have been
split. This was a shame, as if the game had continued (for 4
minutes), the Eagles had picked up pace and possibly could have
tied or won the game. As it happened the result stands as above
and must be respected by all.

The final game of
the tourney was a disappointing finish for the Eagles with a 5
goal loss. The team was down a man from the Bangor game and the
mood of all the players had changed. Aside from the high goal
loss, Raymond Browne, Richie Grace & Dave Barnes still
managed to get 3 goals into the Armagh net for some consolation
in the game.
