The Eagles began
this game initially scraping ahead with Richie Grace and
Kevan Grace putting one away each. This was met by two Armagh
goals, replied to with another from Dave Nicolai. Armagh put
another two in the net with a single reply from Richie Grace.
Armagh quicky came back putting 3 over the line, followed by one
from Clark Caughey, The first period concluded with Armagh
hitting the target just before the whistle. The score 7-5 to
Armagh at the break.
The second period
began with a different theme. The Eagles determined to gain the
lead and keep it, quickly made it level with goals from Kevan
Grace and Darren Browne. The Stars replied with a long slap-shot
score rapidly avenged with two consecutive goals from Richie
Grace. Dave Nicolai and Darren Browne put one each away further
into the period, giving a commanding lead to the Eagles. The
Stars pulled another one back with another long-ranger but Dave
Nicolai put the icing on the cake with a score from a deflected
Dave Barnes shot in the final minute to seal the victory not
only for the game but for the cup.
